Handel's Messiah remains one of the most beloved choral works, 277 years after its first performance in Dublin, Ireland. This performance is unique in that it employs the version created in 1789 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who assigned some of the choral parts to the soloists, and added flutes, clarinets and horns to the orchestra.
